Overview
London Road premiered at the Kalk Bay Theatre in Cape Town in 2010 and immediately drew praise from the audience and critics. It transferred to the newly opened Fugard Theatre and opened in April 2010.
Stella and Rosa seem to have nothing in common, apart from living in the same block of flats in Sea Point and their loneliness. A burglary in Stella’s dank room brings down Rosa, who attempts to help and take care of Stella, beginning the life-changing relationship between two people who have both been isolated. Piecing together a series of snapshot moments that glimpse into their personal lives, they create a humorous and enriching tale of survival.
