The Fugard Bioscope Winter Season of Classic Cinema

Overview

The Fugard Theatre launched its new state-of-the-art cinema (bioscope) in its main theatre with the inaugural Fugard Bioscope Winter Season of Classic Cinema, proudly presented in association with Thelema Mountain Vineyards.

This season followed the prior screenings of classic films based on the plays of Athol Fugard, in honour of his Tony Lifetime Achievement Award. The four-week season had four different themes: thrillers, classical political thrillers, classic LGBTIQA+ movies and classic rock concerts

Some titles included: The Baader Meinhof Complex, Carlos, A Prophet, Mesrine Part 1 & 2, Seven Days In May, The Day Of The Jackal, Three Days Of The Condor and Gimme Shelter – The Rolling Stones
