The Fugard Theatre presented a new play, The Eulogists, by the award-winning writer in residence Louis Viljoen in the Studio Theatre from 30 May to 17 June 2017. It was presented as part of the Fugard inaugural Writer in Residence Programme which Louis Viljoen was the first writer to take part.
The world media has descended on a small town to wait for a great statesman to die. Audrey, Zee and Harris each have their own reasons for being stuck in the town and as the truth emerges, the inevitability of losing a person who represents hope becomes an unbearable burden.
