Overview
Langarm, a new South African musical, was created by the award-winning David Kramer and was presented at the Fugard Theatre for the festive season from 20 November in 2018. Produced and presented by Eric Abraham for the Fugard Theatre, Langarm was a story of love and intrigue set in the story world of Cape Town’s ballroom dance culture in the 1960s. With the threat of the new apartheid laws hanging over their heads. He was white. She was not. They broke the law to dance.
Langarm was written and directed by David Kramer. The stellar creative team included Musical Arrangements by Resident Musical Director of the Fugard Theatre Charl-Johan Lingenfelder. Set Design was by Saul Radomsky, Sound Design by David Classen, Costume Design was by Widaad Albertus, and Choreography is by Grant Van Ster of Figure Of 8 Dance Collective.
