Overview
The Fugard Theatre was proud to be a venue of the 10th Suidoosterfees which was an exuberant celebration of the Cape lifestyle, the people and unique, colourful heritage – a celebration of the cultural diversity and inclusivity of the Mother City.
This year’s festival of highlights boasted a first-ever Afrikaans Fugard: Die Laaste Karretjiegraf is a story of the Karretjiemense, a tribute to the legacy of South Africa’s earliest inhabitants. As part of the festival, there were numerous other productions which took place on the main stage as part of the festival.
