Celebrating Dame Janet Suzman

In 2011, Dame Janet Suzman was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II and made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire. To celebrate this accolade, the Fugard Theatre presented a week of retrospective Suzman films in August and September in its Bioscope.

The screened films included: Nicholas and Alexandra, The Draughtsman’s Contract, A Dry White Season, Nuns on the Run, Priest of Love and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Also screened was the production of Othello with John Kani and Joanna Weinberg.
