Overview
Cabaret opened at the Fugard Theatre on the 10th of March 2015 and enjoyed a hugely successful season. It marked the second musical production created by the sea e team, who brought the wild successful The Rocky Horror Show to the Fugard stage.
Set in the heart of Berlin, pre-World War II, at steamy nightlife venue the Kit Kat Klub, where cabaret performer Sally Bowles, the club’s emcee and others encourage patrons to come to forget about their troubles by tantalising their senses. However, the political climate is changing, and the future looks bleak for Germany and its nightlife scene. What ensues is a tale about following your heart even amidst chaos.
