As Die Broke Pas / Man to Man starred Antoinette Kellermann and was directed by Marthinus Basson. This extraordinary and award-winning play was at the Fugard Theatre for two weeks – one week performed in Afrikaans As Die Broke Pas and one week in English Man to Man.

As Die Broke Pas / Man to Man is a one-woman show about a woman Ella Gericke, who takes over her deceased husband’s identity during the economic disaster of the Weimar period in Germany. She takes over his identity to make a living as Max Gericke, a factory crane operator.
