Pieter-Dirk Uys stepped onto the stage at the Fugard Theatre as Bambi Kellermann, the raunchy, sexy younger sister of stalwart political figure Evita Bezuidenhout, to perform a limited run of the cabaret 50 Shades of Bambi, which opened on the 6th of August 2013.
The chalk to Evita’s cheese, Bambi has worked as a stripper and sex worker – she’s also known as the Grand Horizontal who graduated from the University of Sex Cum Laude in Bethlehem – and talks frankly about her escapades and long (stiletto-heeled) walk to freedom of expression. Musical director and master of cabaret tunes, Godfrey Johnson, joined the illustrious madam on piano. In the form of song, Bambi exposes herself in a brand new ambush on the prim, proper, and pathetic.
