International Award Winning Stef Bos Live at the Fugard Theatre for two nights only
Stef Bos, the highly regarded and popular Dutch pianist, songwriter and actor, will be performing at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town on the 27th and 28th January, 2012.
Bos was born in the Netherlands and has worked extensively around the globe during his professional career. He will be performing for two nights only at the Fugard Theatre and local audiences can expect his usual mastery behind his grand piano in this show.
Quattro Fusion, the popular classical/jazz combo of Melanie Scholtz and Samson Diamond, will be on the Fugard Studio stage on Sunday 11 December. Bokani Dyer (Standard Bank Young Artist for jazz 2011) on the piano, with Claude Cozens on drums and Shane Cooper on bass, will be opening this cream-of-SA-jazz evening which kicks off at 18h00. This once off event is proudly presented by Standard Bank and the Fugard Theatre.

Giselle is one of the most influential of all Romantic ballets, and one of the greatest and most popular works of the dance canon and of The Royal Ballet’s repertory. The title role presents the transcendental power of a woman’s love in the face of betrayal and is one of the most technically demanding and emotionally challenging roles in classical dance – not surprisingly, it is here a great showcase for the leading ballerinas of the Company. Peter Wright’s sensitive staging in the atmospheric designs by John Macfarlane heightens the contrast as the story moves between the human and supernatural worlds.

Sensational Funny Man Alan Committie heads up and hosts a star-studded comedy line-up as the Fugard Theatre proudly presents its very first Fugard fest of Comedy, from 29 November to 17 December.
Alan and his Comedy Committee of Rob van Vuuren, Carmen Maarman, Hope Maimane and Jo Galloway will treat audiences to a three-week festive frolic on the Fugard Theatre Stage. In a deliciously hilarious comedy revue romp, this team of many talents reflects on a long 2011, and is sure to have audiences laughing well into 2012.
In the spirit of holiday season overindulgence, the Comedy Committee will be joined every night by yet another funny friend, in a line-up that will see the cream of the comedy crop gracing the Fugard stage. Mark Banks joins the ranks for the first week, and will be up to his usual uncontrollable madcap antics from 29 November to 3 December, an additional 17h00 show has been added to Saturday 3 December. Skirting around relatively taboo topics with charm and ease, comedy doctor Riaad Moosa will split your sides and keep you in stitches at the same time, when he joins the gang for the 6th, 7th and 10th December. During the final week, 12 to 17 December, Stuart Taylor brings his intelligent comedy magic to the mix to round off a fantastic season of laughs.
